SoCalCross Gravel Trofee Series Begins April 3rd

SoCal Cross, Pedalers Fork and 10-Speed Coffee present the 4th edition of the Pedalers Fork 10-Speed Coffee Grinder on April 3, 2016 in Calabasas. Riders can choose one of two options. The LUNCH TROFEE (as in you’ll want lunch and a beer after ya finish this one!) is a 70 km (44 mile) ride with 1,400 meters (4,700 feet) of climbing on two loops through the spectacular vistas and red rock canyons of the Santa Monica Mountains and the rolling hills and grasslands of the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve. Or, riders can choose to ride only one of the two loops (34 or 36 km and 600 versus 800 meters of climbing) that comprise the LUNCH TROFEE. The first, and shorter, BRUNCH (as in, maybe a lite brunch recovery meal will do) loop features a long single-track section and then hard packed truck roads through Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve. The other, longer BRUNCH loop features more paved riding and is probably more approachable on a road bike. All three rides feature some single track, truck roads, and pavement. There will be a roving mechanic and SAG support and ride marshals. Participants will receive 20 percent off food purchases at Pedalers Fork, complementary beer courtesy of SoCal Cross and points toward series prizes and awards.  For more information, please visit socalcross.org.

The So Cal Gravel Trofee is a series of six scored events produced by SoCal Cross and Where to Bike Los Angeles monthly in April to September 2016. So Cal Gravel Trofees are medium distance rides on pavement, dirt roads, fire trails, single track and interesting obstacles, mixed together into challenging adventure rides into some of the best urban and wilderness landscapes in Southern California. The next Trofee, LA ROUBAIX, will take participants into the urban wilds of Griffith Park, Elysian Park, and surrounding neighborhoods on May 22, 2016.
