The Mid Season Grand Prix was the 3rd race of the season held at the Jurupa Valley course in Riverside. The new course is a fun and challenging course that will test your fitness.
It was good to see some of the teams lining 4 to 6 riders per team for the Pro 1/2 race. Cylance was going to be the team to beat on the day. Diego Sandoval (Cylance / Incycle) has been on great form this season and has been getting in some solid wins for the Cylance / Incycle team.

It took a while to get the break to form in this particular race. There were a few solid moves but nothing really lasted more than a lap or two. However, around the 40 minute mark SoCalCycling.com Team’s Garrett Olsen took a flyer to hang out there for a couple of laps only to see a counter from 3 riders that went over the top of Garrett’s move. Diego Sandoval (Cylance / Incycle), Sean McElroy (Team Specialized Racing) and Adam Schepps (Team Breakaway) opened up a gap of around 20 seconds and maintained it for a few laps. However, with some of the other teams starting to get organized the gap was coming down in the closing laps and it looked like it could come down to a field sprint. In the end, they were able to just hang on and barely held off the hard charging field that was sprinting down on their heels.
Pro 1/2 Race Podium

2nd Sean McElroy (Team Specialized Racing)
3rd Adam Schepps (Team Breakaway)
