We were saddened to learn that cycling legend Steve Tilford was killed during a tragic traffic accident this morning on I 70 near the Utah and Colorado border.
Steve has been racing decades competing at a high level in road, mountain biking and cyclocross and did not seem to be slowing down. Steve’s accolades include being on some of the top domestic Pro Teams in the 80’s, a Mountain Bike Hall of Fame induction and being the first US Mountain Bike National Champion.
We always enjoyed reading Steve’s popular cycling blog, SteveTilford.com, which always offered great insights on the sport.
Cycling has lost a great ambassador that truly loved the sport. Our condolences go out to Steve’s family and friends.
