Sign Up TODAY to Race and Volunteer for this Great Weekend of Racing!
While the world’s best pros are starting the Tour de France, you can come be a part of and see the same great action closer to home at the Second Annual 805 Thousand Oaks Grand Prix. It features a circuit race and a criterium and an omnium format to find the best racer over two days of fast and challenging racing. Come out and support this great event and the cycling community in Thousand Oaks, the Conejo Valley and all of Southern California.
Saturday July 7 – An exciting 2 mile circuit course with a hill and some false flat sections. Racing is from 9am to about 5pm. Start finish is on Conejo Center Drive near the intersection of Conejo Spectrum and the race makes three right turns, first at Rancho Conejo, then at Lawrence Drive and then back onto Conejo Center. Parking is at the Anthem Lot at the corner of Lawrence and Conejo Center (walk up the hill to the start finish) and racers and volunteers can turn L from Rancho Conejo onto Conejo Spectrum (please be careful as this crosses the course) and park at 2610 Conejo Spectrum Street.
Sunday July 8 – A challenging 1.2 mile criterium course with an uphill finish. Racing is from 7am to just after 5pm. Start finish is on Conejo Center Drive near the intersection of Conejo Spectrum and the race makes three left turns, first at Conejo Spectrum, then at Rancho Conejo and then back onto Conejo Center and uphill to the finish. Parking is at the Anthem Lot at the corner of Lawrence and Conejo Center (walk up the hill to the start finish) and racers and volunteers can continue up Conejo Center and park on Conejo Center closer to the course.
Expo Area, Charity, and Kids Races
Both days have an expo area with bike racing vendors and there will be a beer and wine garden sponsored by Sierra Nevada and the Stonehaus, with all proceeds going to the great local charity, the Michael P. Nosco Foundation. Sunday has races for juniors and for kids (12:25pm) so bring out the kids to check out the excitement and fun of bicycle racing! Come race, volunteer or just watch! See you there and please encourage your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors to come out and be a part of the fun! Spread the word!
