ANZA Crossing in Riverside heats up the competition at SoCalCross!
SoCalCross returned to SoCal swirling the schedule shift from a weekend in LA to a heated battle for ranking points for those going to CX Nationals. Also, Martha McLean Anza Narrows Park has a following as one of SoCal’s most dynamic and demanding courses. Who would want to miss the chance to roll on this former Par 3 Golf Course turned park along the famed and longest River Trail in Southern California as the Santa Ana River travels from the San Bernardino Mountains 110 miles to Huntington Beach!
SCPS11 did disappoint as racers imagined the sweeping grass course had new homeowners with gophers making home across the park and frisbee golf takes much of the course making for patchwork grass and bumpy pathways. Also, Red Flag conditions brought heat and wind as November in SoCal has seen more frequent spells due to the impacts of climate change.
Up next, the competition gets fierce this weekend at Turkey Trot Cross on Sunday, November 24th
Pie Podiums and Cup-Cake Hand-ups! Holiday themed Community Cross FUN Race benefiting Costa Mesa Alliance for Better Streets and don’t miss our annual Turkey Trot Kiddie Cross & Doggies Cross too! Women’s race sponsored by The Unlikely Cyclist, Tuition Bike Tacos will be providing lunch including vegan options and helping students one taco at a time! Plus just added SoCalCross Fixed-Gear Tracklocross category in the finale race 2:45 PM!
