With her fourth rainbow success, the multiple French champion
is the queen of the off-road disciplines.
Pauline Ferrand Prévot gives Sidi its fourth rainbow jersey and fourth gold medal. The four-time world champion has added a new world title to her palmares in the discipline that has been involving many cycling enthusiasts for a few years now – Gravel.
The French athlete once again demonstrated her undisputed versatility at the end of the first Gravel World Championships, wearing the first rainbow jersey in the speciality after claiming victory in a hard-fought final. An extraordinary success that confirms how this transalpine talent can really give her all on any terrain.
A demanding athlete who, over the years, has led Sidi to continually raise the bar in the search for the perfect union between performance and technology. Thanks to continuous discussions between her and the product managers, it has been possible to meet her demands and at the same time developing a new awareness of the needs of off-road products.
One of the main reasons why Sidi decided to compete alongside athletes on the international cycling and motorcycling scene is precisely because of the opportunity to grow together and consequently put high-performance products on the market that would be available to professionals and amateurs alike. An important value that has always been part of the brand philosophy. With the incredible amount of competing companies, it is not enough to propose a good product to be chosen by the champions but it is important to listen to them and treasure their feedback. Pauline is certainly among the athletes who have contributed to this and to whom the company is deeply grateful for her countless victories and support.
“I’m happy, I don’t think I did anything wrong,” Ferrand-Prévot commented after the victory. “The course was fast and technical. Despite the attacks I stayed in the small group at the front of the race. I knew that in a final sprint in a small group I could win. I still don’t believe I made it.”
XCC, XCO, Marathon and Gravel are this year’s world championships won by the French star, ten in her career to date. A palmares that recounts not only the undisputed talent but also the tenacity, resilience and authentic mentality of an extraordinary athlete who has been able to overturn the canons of off-road and rewrite them.
About Drako 2
There are at least 6 strong points of the Drako 2.
The Soft Instep Closure System: a replaceable, contoured and anatomical strap positioned on the instep which, by adjusting on both sides, offers even pressure distribution. The Tecno-3 Push System. also involved in the shoe closure, allows the upper to adapt to the shape of the foot. Adjustable even while racing through an innovative button, this Sidi patent customizes the fit through micro-adjustment. The Single Tecno-3 Push, on the other hand, positioned in the centre, creates a perfect balance of tension between the inside and outside of the shoe.
The back houses an adjustable heel by means of a mechanism that reinforces the spoiler and improves the fit while offering a secure and independent rear closure. The reinforced, anatomically moulded heel stabilizes and supports the heel. It reduces slippage and provides greater transfer power.
The anti-slip rubber toe protects against accidental impacts or debris, and the MTB SRS Carbon-Ground sole provides strength and durability. Replaceable inserts on the toe and heel, attached to a pure carbon sole, and a replaceable plate, designed to prevent damage to the sole caused by contact with the pedal, complete the product.
