Tour de France Bike Check: Ben Healy’s Yellow Cannondale LAB71 SuperSix EVO

Explore the custom Ben Healy Tour de France bike build featuring a yellow LAB71 SuperSix EVO frame designed for performance.

Cannondale Mechanics Deliver Healy’s Yellow Jersey Bike

After Ben Healy (EF Pro Cycling) claimed the yellow jersey with a strong ride on Stage 10 of the 2025 Tour de France, Cannondale’s mechanics were immediately tasked with a high-priority build. A custom-painted yellow LAB71 SuperSix EVO frame — shipped in from Cannondale’s European office — arrived in southern France just in time for Stage 11.

With limited time, the team’s mechanics worked through the early hours to prepare a race-ready bike that matched Healy’s new status as race leader. Every detail, from performance components to color-matched accessories, was carefully installed to ensure both function and flair.

From Box to Race-Ready: Inside the Bike Build

The mechanics began with Cannondale’s LAB71 SuperSix EVO platform — an elite-level road frame made with the brand’s lightest carbon fiber. The yellow finish, inspired by the maillot jaune, set the tone for the rest of the build.

They fitted Vision’s Metron 60 RS carbon wheels, upgraded with yellow graphics to complement the frame. The tires were 30mm Vittoria Corsa Pro, chosen for their balance of grip and rolling resistance, and set up tubeless with Air-Liner inserts for added protection. Pink Muc-Off tubeless valves added a signature touch.

Dialed-In Components for Performance and Comfort

In the drivetrain, the mechanics installed FSA’s K-Force Powerbox Team Edition crankset in 167.5mm length, paired with 54/40 chainrings. A wide-range 11-34 cassette gave Healy gearing options for the mixed terrain ahead. For pedals, they selected Wahoo’s SPEEDPLAY AERO model, known for its aerodynamic shaping and efficient power transfer.

The one-piece SystemBar R-One cockpit, developed in partnership with MOMODesign, was mounted and adjusted to match Healy’s race fit. His brake/shift levers were turned slightly inward to accommodate his aerodynamic position, and the bars were wrapped in Fizik’s Solocush tape for long-ride comfort.

Tech Touches and Yellow Details

To match the color scheme, the mechanics installed a limited-edition yellow Wahoo ELEMNT BOLT 3 cycling computer. The bike’s race transponder and head unit were also updated to reflect the Tour’s leader designation.

Despite the tight timeline, the build was completed without issue. By the next morning, Healy had a custom-fitted, Tour-ready machine waiting for him — painted yellow and built for speed.

Celebrating the Moment with a Custom Bike

Healy’s reaction said it all. The overnight effort wasn’t just about creating a matching look — it was a tribute to a milestone moment. The bike became a symbol of his hard-earned lead in the biggest race of the year, made possible by the mechanics who delivered under pressure.
