The SPNDX Stampede Gravel vol. 1 and 805 Thousand Oaks Grand Prix are hosting two fun events for cyclists to participate in and cycling enthusiasts to spectate at this weekend.
SPNDX Stampede Gravel vol. 1
On Saturday, July 8th, the SPNDX Stampede returns for it’s third year with two more gravel events on top of the popular road fundo event. The first gravel event labeled (vol. 1) will take place in the rolling hills of Temecula wine country and is 50 miles in distance. The SPNDX Stampede Gravel vol. 1 is hosted by recently retired Pro cyclist Jon Hornbeck. “Our goal is for you to go out and get a some good hours in on the bike and then come back to our gorgeous venue for food, drinks, music and everything else in between including unicorn masks.” The SPNDX Stampede caps at 250 riders.
805 Thousand Oaks Grand Prix
On Sunday, July 9th, the 805 Thousand Oaks Grand Prix is making it’s debut as a new event on the 2017 race calendar. The new course features a challenging 1.2 mile three-turn course with an uphill finish with 60 feet of gain per lap and is designed by former Pro cyclist Ivan Dominguez. Come out and enjoy the Expo Area with great local food and a Sierra Nevada beer and Stonehaus wine garden, and fun activities for the kids. In addition, there will be free skin cancer screenings and information to learn more about the prevention of skin cancers in cyclists.
