The Lake Hughes Circuit Race was the first race of the Memorial Weekend Omnium and was held on nice roads with rolling terrain in Castaic, CA. With road races and circuit races becoming a rarity, it was nice to enjoy the rural roads of Lake Hughes Circuit Race and appreciate CBS Cycling for hosting the event.
The course featured a 15.5km loop with almost 300 meters of climbing per lap.
In the Lake Hughes Circuit Race Pro 1/2 race, Sean McElroy (Legion) finished ahead of Cory Lockwood (Semper Porro) in 2nd, Abner Gonzalez (SoCalCycling.com Team) in 3rd, Diego Binatena (Legion) in 4th and Christian Gorm Albrechtsen (SoCalCycling.com Team).
