The Barrio Logan Grand Prix returns on June 14, 2025 and will once again host the SCNCA Junior Criterium Championships. BLGP is a fast and unique figure eight crit experience, so join in the thrill of fast-paced bicycle racing by pro racers, top-level amateurs, and a fun children’s cycling event at one of Southern California’s largest cycling events. The race is open to men and women of all ages, from professionals to first-time racers and we’re the only race to award cash prizes (and tortillas!) to all senior podium finishers. The 0.8-mile race course takes place in historic downtown Barrio Logan and will begin and end on Newton Avenue across from Perkins Elementary School. Spectators will have access to numerous views of the racers along city streets in the Barrio Logan area throughout the day. Race schedule posters along with first-class race announcing provided by Ralph Elliot (MGE Racing) will keep you up to speed with everything going on.
Barrio Logan can get busy, so the event is providing dedicated free parking for racers at a nearby multi-level parking garage at 1936 National Ave, San Diego, CA 92113. Parking passes will be sent to all pre-registered racers before the event. You can then stay to enjoy the local restaurants and watch the rest of the races, and we’ll have race primes to help you get the most out of your time with us.
For younger budding cyclists and we’ll hold a free bike safety rodeo for kids from 09:30-11:30am, supported by Performance Contracting Inc, Barrett Engineered Pumps and Life Sports Foundation Our expert instructors will teach basic skills we’ll be giving away free helmets for kids taking part. For future champions, bring your bike to participate in the free community kids race. You’ll ride on the main race course at 11:15am in front of our cheering spectators to cross the finish line and start your journey in bike racing!
