20th Annual Keyesville Classic Mountain Bike Race
1/2/08 - The Southern Sierra Fat Tire Association (SSFTA) is pleased to announce that the 20th Annual Keyesville Classic Mountain Bike Race has been included in both the AMBC Series and USA Cycling Mountain Calendars with a total of $4,000 in prize money, guaranteeing that this year’s event will see a significant increase in national exposure. In previous years, pro-riders did not accumulate any points for their efforts, but participated in the event for its grass-roots appeal, festive atmosphere, and spectacular race course and venue. Although included in the pro-calendars, the Keyesville Classic will still be a great race for riders of all abilities, from seasoned weekend warriors to beginners with no racing experience whatsoever.
Of the upcoming Keyesville Classic, Race Director Jason Smith says, “Our goal is to make the 2008 event the best in its 20-year history, by bringing in more elite-level riders, without neglecting the average guys whose continued support of the race helped keep Keyesville alive in leaner years. Keyesville has always been a favorite among local and regional riders, and we want share this event with a wider audience.”
The event, scheduled for March 15th and 16th, will include the following individual races:
