The organizing committee of the Redlands Bicycle Classic is proud to announce the dates for the upcoming 30th Redlands Bicycle Classic. The dates of the Classic will be Thursday April 3rd through Sunday April 6th, 2014.
The City of Redlands and its surrounding communities will once again serve as a backdrop to this year’s 30th edition of the race. The Redlands Bicycle Classic is a 4 day stage race. The Classic will continue its long tradition of racing the beautiful tree lined streets of Redlands while incorporating new venues like Big Bear Lake, and for the seventh year, the City of Beaumont. Last year, the Classic unveiled a 7,000 ft Time Trial held in the City of Big Bear.
Race Director Eric Reiser said “last year we took on the challenge of bringing a Time Trial to City of Big Bear. The elevation and technical aspect of the TT provided a challenge for both racers and organizers alike.” The day also showcased the versatility of the all volunteer race committee.
The Redlands Bicycle Classic will once again kick-off the National Race Calendar. Last year winners, Francisco Mancebo and Alison Powers, both went on to win the NRC season. The Classic continues to serve as an early season measuring stick for the NRC season.
For the 30th year, Bob Peppler has returned as President to guide the classic committee ” I’m excited to return as President of the Classic. I am excited to be back and looking to build upon the past while gearing up for the future.”
