Jelly Belly presented by MAXXIS Signs Two New Riders

Taylor Shelden and Erik Slack join Jelly Belly presented by MAXXIS for the remainder of the season.

Shelden, 28, is the Colorado State Time Trial Champion, and was 10th at Elite Nationals on the road.

Slack, 27, has a 2nd at Elite Nationals and a 5th at Elite Criterium Nationals in 2014 in his palmares.

With Jabob Rathe and Josh Berry both recovering from surgery for Iliac Arterial Endofibrosis, the team needed some additional firepower going into the next block of racing, which includes Cascade Classic, Tour of Utah, and the USA Pro Cycling Challenge in Colorado. “With the addition of these two strong and experienced riders, Jelly Belly presented by MAXXIS is more than ready for the big races in the back half of the season,” said Director Danny van Haute.

Slack, an all-around strongman with a mean sprint, had some good results at Cascade Classic last year, 4th on a road stage and 6th in the crit earning him a top-30 GC placing. He looks to improve on that with the support of a strong Jelly Belly squad. Slack also cannot wait to race his home race, The Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah, as part of the team.

Shelden’s strength is in the race of truth, time trials, and he most looks forward to pinning on a number at USA Pro Challenge as part of North America’s longest running team.
