On Tap: This Weekend’s Cycling Events

This Valentine’s weekend offers several awesome cycling events to love!

This Saturday on February 13th, the UCLA Road Race takes place in the high desert of Pearblossom, near Lancaster.  Riders will race along a 12.4 mile course with 1,500 feet of climbing per lap with a fast descent  and will do it all over again on each lap. The UCLA Road Race is one of the harder road races in Southern California and becomes a race of attrition with top climbers finishing in the lead group.

This Sunday, on Valentine’s Day, the Roger Millikan Memorial Criterium takes place on a fun course in Brea. This is always an early season favorite for the racers and fans to attend and is held in memory of our old friend Roger Millikan who ran the Eldorado Crit Training Ride in the 90′s and the Valentine’s Day Massacre Crit in Brea.

If you love the dirt, then you’ll want to check out the Quick N Dirty Warm Up mountain bike race at Balboa Park in San Diego, which is also held on this Sunday on Valentine’s Day. There will be a kids race, so bring the family for a fun day! Course on Strava

We hope you enjoy a nice weekend of riding over the long Valentine’s and President’s Day Weekend!
