Celo Pacific is proud to host the 29th annual San Luis Rey (SLR) Road Race in San Diego’s North County on Saturday, April 16, 2016. SLR will be the SCNCA State Road Race Championships for Elite Men’s and Women’s Categories 1-3. SLR was also chosen as part of the SoCal Cup series for Masters Men’s 35+/45+/55+, Elite Men Pro/1/2, Cat 3, and Elite Women 1-3.
“We are offering bigger cash prize lists! We’ve tripled the Women’s Elite 1-3 prize list and doubled the prize list for some other categories. Free sports drinks provided by APX and free Clif bars will be available for all racers. The Soul Cal BBQ truck is back by popular demand for post-race chow!,” said Thomas Ryan, Celo Pacific Race Director.
Just a short drive from Orange and LA County, the SLR road race will take place over multiple out-and-back laps of a 15 mile course with an undulating 400′ climb over the last 2 miles. Categories will be offered for all levels of competitors–from Juniors and beginners, to professionals. Race details can be found on the Celo Pacific Website at www.celopacific.org/SLRR/SLRR16.htm.
This is a must-do A Race, one of only a few road races left in SoCal (and the most convenient location), so come on out and enjoy some great racing in one of SoCal’s classic events!
