This weekend features several great cycling events to participate in or spectate at!
This weekend marks the continuation of the San Diego Criterium Series, which includes the Adrenaline Twilight Grand Prix and Carlsbad Grand Prix. On Saturday, the Adrenaline Twilight Grand Prix takes place at the iconic Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. Racing begins at 11:15 am and the main events starting in the evening twilight hours, with the Women’s 1-3 race starting at 7 pm and the Pro 1-2 Men’s race starting at 8 pm. This should be a great race with Qualcomm Stadium providing a nice back drop for the racers and fans.
The following day on Sunday, racers can line up again for another chance to race at the Carlsbad Grand Prix in Carlsbad. There will be a full day of racing, a Kids Race and a Healthy Lifestyle Expo. The course is ideally located by the beach, Legoland California and the beautiful Flower Fields.
In addition, the SoCal GRAVEL Trofee #3: L. A. ROUBAIX v2: Hell of the North is the third gravel ride of its Summer 2016 season, to be run on Sunday, July 17. The ride, starting and finishing at The Pub at Golden Road in Atwater Village, will venture into LA’s northern foothills and canyon parks including: Stough Canyon Park Verdugo Mountains then over to the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains and San Rafael Hills of Glendale and La Canada all on on a generous mix paved and dirt roads and historic trails and parks. Cyclocross gravel bikes with climbing gears and mountain bikes are recommended. Riders can also use road bikes with 28 tires and mountain bike pedals.
