The Giro di San Diego is the only local event to feature a timed climb up the South Grade of Mount Palomar plus covering the routes of the little-known backcountry of San Diego. Often compared to France’s Alpe d’Huez, Palomar is a fabled climb that has been featured twice in the Tour of California bicycle race.

If you’re not quite ready for the epic Palomar Mountain climb, you can choose a route that will be just as beautiful and challenging to suit your ability levels.

Giro di San Diego is proud to support Life Sports Foundation. `Life Sports Foundation is dedicated to helping people of all abilities who are facing physical, situational, or medical challenges to enrich their lives through sports. This year fundraising efforts at the Granfondo San Diego will support San Diego’s Foster Youth Sports participation and extracurricular activities. The beer garden will be taking donations to buy running shoes for foster youth to encourage healthy lifestyles and inclusion in sports.

Although fundraising is not required it is greatly encouraged. The Ride organizers show their thankfulness by providing a free ride entry and Jersey to any rider raising $600 or more. Corporate fundraising and teams are encouraged.
