The 27th edition of the San Luis Rey Road Race will be returning to the rural byways of Bonsall in San Diego’s North County on Saturday, April 26. Racing will take place over multiple laps of a 15 mile course that climaxes in an undulating climb that ascends 400′ in the last 2 miles.
Categories will be offered for all levels of competitor from beginner to professional. In addition, SLR will once again be the SCNCA Super Master Road Race Championships with several fields for men 65+ and women 60+. In recognition of the continued growth of the Women’s 3/4 field – over 50 riders were on the start line in 2013 – the race organization will once again be splitting out the Women’s 3 and Women’s 4 prize lists. Once the racing has finished, new race sponsor, Hill Wine Company, will ensure those who stand on the podium are amply rewarded for their efforts. Also new this year, PB Creative will be capturing all of the racing action as SLR’s official photographer. Come on out and enjoy some great springtime racing in one of SoCal’s classic events.
