Swamis Cycling is currently recruiting junior racers (15/16 and 17/18) for the 2015 SKLZ-Swamis Junior Development Team.
The SKLZ-Swamis Junior Development Team is a fully supported team with a mission to provide the support and guidance to enable SoCal’s best young riders to reach their full potential. The 2015 team will consist of 6-8 elite junior racers who will race the regional circuit plus several targeted national caliber events including VOS, San Dimas, SeaOtter and Nationals that are selected to further the rider’s development and showcase their abilities to the USA Cycling National Team coaches.
Generous sponsorship from SKLZ, BH Bikes, Capo Cycling Apparel, Spy Optic, RIDE Cyclery (Encinitas, CA) and the backing of the 250+ strong Swamis membership allow the team to fully support the riders with entry fees, travel expenses and professional grade equipment including race ready bikes from BH, kits from Capo, performance and lifestyle eyewear from Spy Optic, race wheels, helmets and Skratch hydration products. Additionally the team will help enable qualified riders to attend USA Cycling junior development programs including talent ID camps, European racing camps and l’Abitibi Stage Race. Over the past two years the SKLZ-Swamis team has sent riders on 4 European race camps, 5 riders to l’Abitibi, 3 riders to talent ID camps, 7 riders to Nationals and 2 riders to the Jr. Tour of Ireland.
The SKLZ-Swamis Junior Development Team is managed through Swamis Cycling (Encinitas, CA) – one of the oldest and most respected cycling clubs in Southern California. Swamis’ president Steve Masterson is the managing director of the team and USAC certified coach and Cat 1 racer Chris Daggs is the team race director.
Accomplished junior racers (15/16 and 17/18) from the SoCal region who have a burning desire to reach the top tier of cycling are encouraged to submit their race resume to [email protected]. Be sure to include USAC License #, 2015 race age, race category and a brief description of your goals.
