Scorching hot temperatures that reached triple digits and die hard riders would make up the day’s races at the June “Reload” Classic Grand Prix.
As the race got underway in the Pro 1/2 race, the wind also became a factor. Within the first few laps several breakaways tried to get up the road. After four to five laps in the race, the group had split and this set up the breaks and chase groups that would form on the the course for the remainder of the race.
After many attacks and battling the heat and wind, the race came down to a five man breakaway group that saw a drag race to the finish line for the win.
In the final sprint, Jason Cianfrocca (Team Velocity) took the win ahead of Wesley Eslick (SoCalCycling.com Team) in 2nd and Leo Reyes (Full Circle Cycling) in 3rd.
