On Tap: This Weekend’s Cycling Events

A great lineup of cycling events will be taking place this weekend including: the Tucson Bicycle Classic Stage Race, HUNKR 100 Kilometer Bicycle Race in Orange County, Lake Elizabeth Road Race, Chuck Pontius Criterium and KMC Winter Series.

Tucson Bicycle Classic Stage Race

Held in Tucson, Arizona March 17-19th, the 31st Annual Tucson Bicycle Classic Stage Race is a 3-day USA Cycling (USAC) timed stage race with a $10,000 cash purse (equal payout), challenging courses and spectacular terrain. The Tucson Bicycle Classic Stage Race features 27 USAC categories including Pro/1 Men and Pro 1/2 Women, multiple masters categories, intermediate cats and a featured Junior Development Race Series.

HUNKR 100 Kilometer Bicycle Race
HUNKR – Orange County brings 100 kilometer bicycle racing to Orange County on March 18th. Racers under 23 race free to make it as easy as possible for youth to get started racing bicycles to help the future and grow sport.

Lake Elizabeth Road Race and Chuck Pontius Criterium
Santa Clarita Velo will be putting on the Lake Elizabeth Road Race on Saturday, March 18th and the Chuck Pontius Criterium on Sunday, March 19th this weekend. The Lake Elizabeth Road Race March 18th will serve as the Women’s Masters SCNCA Championship Road Race, as well as the Men’s Super Masters SCNCA Championship Road Race.

KMC Winter Series
The KMC Winter Series  provides a great event for mountain bikers to compete in X-country, Downhill and Super “D” events at Southridge Park in Fontana on March 18 and 19th.
