Women Go for the Gold: Central Coast Cycling Classic Women's Focus Weekend,
National Championships – Masters Road & Junior Track, Bike Talk: Women on Bikes
By Dorothy Wong

It was an amazing 4th of July season where women from So Cal were making their mark in cycling across the nation taking home 14 National Championships from Juniors to Masters 70+!

Supporting the women was the theme of the Central Coast Cycling Classic in San Luis Obispo, three days of women-focused activities hosted by the Women’s Cyclng Challenge including a celebration ride through the scenic roads of SLO, a women’s clinic, road racing for all levels including masters women, a meet and greet dinner, and women’s boutique and warm-up lounge at the finale of the SCNCA Elite Criterium Championships. Pam Schuster (Helens) swept both days earning the 35+ win and the Cat1/2 Elite Crit Championship.  Kimberly Turner (Chicken Ranch) won the Cat 3 Crit Championship and Sara Bell of Ventura (Metal MTN) won the Cat 4 Crit title.  Sue Fish (Kalyra) and Jeanette Candau (Echelon) won the Cycling Made Real – 2 day points competition 35+ 45+.  Thanks to SLO-Nexxus, Shaba Mohseni of Nimble Creative for providing an incredible opportunity for women.  More than 100 women took part in the weekend!
