Jax Bicycle Centers takes the lead in supporting young cyclists.
In 1971, during the bicycle boom, Jack Salem started a small 1,500 square foot bicycle store in Long Beach, CA. Over the last 14 years, Dave and Elizabeth Hanson have expanded it into eight locations and to be known as Jax Bicycle Centers, one of the most respected retail bicycle businesses in America.
TRU Cycling founder and owner Sang Vu said, “This is a dream come true. Our goal from the start was to align our team with the best companies in the business to support our vision and goal of mentoring young riders, not only in cycling but also in life. For Jax Bicycle Centers to have faith in our program and commit 2 years is so awesome I couldn’t be more excited”.
Dave Hanson, Jax Bicycles Centers owner, added “Jax is dedicated to promoting cycling, and has been working on partnering with cycling team for some time. With Tru Cycling, we found the Partnership we were looking for to promote competition, fun, fitness, enjoyment and transportation. TRU has youngsters, racers and club enthusiasts involved in cycling, perfect. This is truly something we at Jax can support and grow with. Furthermore, we love the core values of TRU: Trust, Respect and Unity.
TRU Cycling built on the foundation of Trust, Respect and Unity, it was formed in 2010 by a group of friends who shared a passion for cycling. TRU Cycling started with a diverse group of cyclists including master, senior, junior racers and recreational riders. One of the main focuses is the development of the junior racers where this past summer TRU Cycling team brought home 3 medals, including a champion tittle from SCNCA State Championship, and 2 medals from National Championship in the 13-14 age group.
