Mark your calendars for the inaugural Carlsbad Family Fun Ride (CFFR) on Saturday, September 7, and Carlsbad Grand Prix on Sunday, September 8 presented by Hoehn Motors Carlsbad with KPRi as official media partner.
The CGP is big league bike racing on a 0.9 mile closed criterium circuit that finishes with a sweeping view of the Pacific Ocean. This full day of races will feature multiple categories for juniors and women, along with professional fields, and Paralympic hand cyclists (via Challenged Athletes Foundation). Racing begins at 7:00am. Don’t miss the healthy lifestyle expo right next to the race course!
The CFFR, a FREE event in the heart of Carlsbad at Holiday Park from 10am to 4pm, is more than just a ride. Although the ride is the centerpiece of the event with a grand prize of 2 Haro BMX bikes for 2 lucky winners, other activities will keep families entertained while off the saddle!
The CFFR includes:
- Bike Rodeo by Ride Cyclery
- SKLZ Fitness Course
- Ga Ga Court by the Ecke YMCA
- Bike Sprint Competition
- Frisbee Golf by Discovering Disc Golf
- Interactive Music Making by the Museum of Making Music (MoMM)
- FitKids Class by La Costa Resort and Spa – Live music all day – and much more…
The ride is a 2-mile loop through the Village with stops at SubZero, Boys and Girls Clubs of Carlsbad, Pedego, The Grand Deli, and Supercuts. Participants pick up wristbands at the stops to qualify for a prize draw when they return to the park. A bonus stop at any Hoehn Motors Carlsbad location also enters participants in a one-time raffle for a 2012 Masi Evo Rival road bike (MSRP $2,999).
Don’t worry though, you can also buy raffle tickets on-site at both events for a chance to win the Masi bike.
