Universal Sports Network presents more than 13 hours of LIVE daily television and online coverage of the Tour de Suisse from Switzerland, June 13 to 21. The 79th edition of the mountainous nine-stage road race attracts numerous international cyclists in the last major race before the Tour de France.
With three-time winner Rui Costa (Lampre-Merida) skipping this year’s race, a new champion will be crowned. Looking to top the podium are former winners Fabian Cancellara [status pending due to illness] and Frank Schleck, both of Trek Factory Racing, as well as 2015 Tour of California champion Peter Sagan (Tinkoff-Saxo) and 2015 Tour of Turkey winner Kristijan Durasek (Lampre-Merida). Other hopefuls for the overall classification include Mark Cavendish (Etixx-Quick Step), 2014 Tour de France podium finisher Thibaut Pinot (FDJ) and American Tom Danielson (Cannondale-Garmin).
The Universal Sports broadcast team will feature play-by-play announcers Craig Hummer (Stages 1-2) and Steve Schlanger (Stages 3-9) alongside analyst Todd Gogulski, who spent more than a decade racing professionally, including on the U.S. National team, and had more than 100 victories during his career.
With more than 185 hours of exclusive coverage this year, Universal Sports Network is firmly established as the leader in cycling coverage on American television. In addition to the UCI Road World Championships in Richmond, Va., marquee events in Universal Sports’ 2015 Cycling Series include the Vuelta a España, Volta a Cataluyna, Tour of Belgium, Tour of Britain, Three Days of De Panne, Four Days of Dunkerque, Tour de Suisse, Tour de Wallonie, Eneco Tour and the women’s one-day race La Course by Le Tour de France.
