Aventon Mataro Blue

On Wednesday, Aventon hosted an Ice Cream Social and product preview at Aventon’s Headquarters to share some pre-production models of two new Aventon bikes that are coming out in 2018. There was a meet and greet with Team Aventon riders for autograph signings and photos, as well as the chance to win raffle prizes.

Aventon’s Justin Christopher explained, “To share the new Aventon Mataro track bike with the world, we decided to try something different – we skipped the trade show and instead unveiled the new bike live on Instagram to our @aventonbikes followers via streaming video! Those who were able to join us in person also got to enjoy ‘Lil Betty’s Ice Cream Catering with banana splits and waffle cones!”

Aventon is expecting their first stock of the new Mataro in about 30 days. The new bike features a massive, oversize aero carbon seatpost and these additional features:

  • 6061 Aluminum with aerodynamic tube shapes
  • Seat tube cutout allows for very short wheelbase
  • Carbon fork blades, alloy steerer
  • Tapered head tube

It features a custom one-off track wheelset from new wheel sponsor, Irwin Cycling, an Aventon Latigo carbon handlebar, and other upgrades. The bike in the background is the exact spec consumers can buy and ride, same frame/fork, with the Aventon PUSH groupset which sells for $589.99.
