Sea Otter Classic
The 2021 edition of the Sea Otter Classic returned to an in-person live event, which was great news for the bike industry and cyclists to enjoy, reconnect in person and experience the great bike brands and riding available at Laguna Seca.
The Sea Otter Classic, North America’s largest consumer cycling event set in beautiful Monterey, Calif. joins Life Time’s robust line-up of renowned athletic events. The acquisition leaves in place the Sea Otter Classic leadership team and Event Co-Founder and Director Frank Yohannan, and blends the mission of both organizations—to empower people to live healthy, happy lives and build community and connection through exceptional athlete experiences

Kids zoomed around the pump track perfecting their skills and had a blast finding great prizes in the ever-popular egg hunt with Skipper the Sea Otter. Gorgeous afternoon skies brought out the crowds to cheer on their favorite athletes in one of Sea Otter‘s most popular events— the Dual Slalom— which did not disappoint.

In the early morning hours over 2000 cross country racers and fans were treated to the singing of the national anthem by Navy Seaman Joel Anderson. Gravel racers took on the 30-mile course throughout the rolling hills of Fort Ord National Monument in the first-ever Sea Otter Classic gravel race.

The Junior Short Course field was the largest ever with over 100 kids blasting out from the Sea Otter Bridge. Pro Downhillers took on the gnar and technical sections of the DH track for a great show while Amateur racers dropped the hammer on road to finish out the event in fine style.
