Free “getting started” clinic offered on every race day;
2023/24 season calendar released
The Southern California Prestige Series of Cyclocross (“SoCalCross”) and RideCX have partnered to introduce beginners, youth, juniors, and first-timers to the sport, offering a free “getting started” clinic on every race day this season.
Each clinic starts at 8am, lasts one hour, and is timed to get riders to the start line for the 1 lap first-timers race at 9am. The clinic is the perfect introduction for new riders; covering basic techniques, registration, rules, and other tips to take the intimidation out of bicycle racing for first-timers.
“I’m excited to partner with SoCalCross to support new racers,” says Justin Christopher of RideCX. “Educating the next generation lines up perfectly with my mission to share the love of cyclocross.”
The 2023/24 SoCalCross season kicks off November 25 and 26 with the Turkey Trot Cross in Costa Mesa at Estancia – Balearic Parks, 1975 Balearic Ave. Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Race details and pre-registration are available at https://www.bikereg.com/ttcx-costa-mesa. The event features something for everyone, Community Cross races for all ages and abilities with a spectator friendly course; plus Kiddie and Doggie Cross Fundraiser benefiting the Costa Mesa Alliance for Better Streets and Save Our Youth.
