Retail Registration Accelerates Post-Interbike as Shops Sign Up for Fall CycloFest

Interbike has announced that several key bike and accessory brands have committed to participate in the 2nd annual Fall Cyclofest event outside Charlotte, North Carolina at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. Brands such as Marin Bikes, Intense Cycles, Yakima Products, BicycleBlueBook.com, Raleigh Electric, iZip, Haibike and more have signed up and will join other stakeholders such as Cannondale, Specialized, Santa Cruz, Ibis, Pivot, Rocky Mountain, Norco and more at the October 19-22, event.

“We’re excited to see more brands and retailers jumping in and taking part in the event,” said Pat Hus, Vice President of Interbike. “We had great success last year, but we also learned a lot. We’ve made some critical improvements to the event by moving the expo closer to the Whitewater Center, adding legit mountain bike racing, including an E-mountain demo component, and by bringing in some high-quality education for retailers.”

Hus added that brand and retailer activity started picking up just before Interbike and that momentum has carried forward since the event. Aggressive consumer marketing began in earnest in Mid-August and has ramped up in the past three weeks.

“Marin recognizes the importance of Fall CycloFest to the retailers who have difficulty attending Interbike, and feel that the event will help us grow our brand’s awareness with both retailers and consumers on the East Coast,” said Tom Jackson, National Sales Manager of Marin Mountain Bikes Inc. “If they can build off last year’s success, there’s no doubt that this event could be a must-attend weekend for us moving forward.”

New for 2017 is the addition of a dedicated e-bike trail designed to test the capabilities of today’s eMTB’s. The 1.4 mile off-road loop will allow retailers and consumers to test a wide variety of E-Mountain bikes on a challenging loop and earn them a chance to win a host of cool prizes. As of this release there will be at least 7 different E-bike brands exhibiting at the event.

SRAM Women’s Program returns with 9-time U.S. National Champion & BMX Hall of Famer Leigh Donovan and other great instructors, to teach on-bike skills clinics and presentation-style tech clinics during the event. There is no cost to participate in the clinics – but spaces are limited.

“SRAM is pleased to return to Fall CycloFest with our Women’s Program & skills clinics,” said David Zimberoff, Vice President of Marketing. “Last year’s program was a success, and we’re glad to return and help improve the mountain bike skills of attendees at the event.”
