The Pasadena Senior Games Cycling Event returns after a two-year hiatus with competitions on Tuesday, June 21 and Wednesday, June 22 at the Long Beach’s beautiful El Dorado Park. Pasadena Senior Games is part of a nationwide program of multi-sport Olympic-style athletic events for adults 50+ which culminate in a National Senior Games held every two years.
The June 21 & 22 Cycling event is a state qualifier for the 2023 National Senior Games in Pittsburgh. Pasadena Senior Games are both competitive and inclusive. There is no pre-qualification necessary, and novice competitors are welcome along with elite athletes. Medals are awarded to age categories in five year increments (from 50-54 up to 90+) for men and for women. Professionally run and friendly, Pasadena Senior Games is an annual coming-together of people from around the region that creates community, reinforces a sense of belonging, forges friendships, and sometimes even sets sports records.
Cycling events include:
- 5 K Time Trials
- 10 K Time Trials
- 20 K Road Race
- 40 K Road Race
TEAM SoCalCross, headed by Dorothy Wong, will support the event with race management.
Pasadena’s Games are produced by the Pasadena Senior Center, part of the Center’s mission to Engage, Enrich, & Empower older adults. If you aren’t a competitor, but interested in being involved, volunteers needed for all events.
