Amber Neben (Irvine, CA/Specialized-lululemon) claimed the gold medal in the women’s time trial today at the Pan American Road and Track Championships Mar Del Plata, Argentina. Neben posted the winning time of 26:60.096 over the out-and-back course, beating out silver medalist Rhae Shaw of Canada who posted a time of 27:47.068. Collecting the bronze medal was Brazilian rider Clemilda Silva with a time of 27:67.000.
Competition in Argentina will close out on Sunday with the road races where Neben will lead a U.S. women’s squad that also includes Coryn Rivera (Tustin, CA/Exergy TWENTY 12), Shelley Olds (Gilroy, CA/AA Drink), and Beth Newell (Oakland, CA/Now Cycling – NOW and Novartis for MS).
